Gov. Fayose tells Ekiti APC lawmakers to stop acting like jesters, dismisses impeachment plot

Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose responds to impeachment threat from APC members in the State House of Assembly. His statement below... Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has advised All Progressives Congress (APC) members in the State House of Assembly to stop acting like jesters, saying; "The script being acted by the APC is a failed one because no one, no matter how highly placed will be allowed to test the will of Ekiti people." The governor, who described the purported impeachment notice posted online by the APC lawmakers as "joke of the century" said; "The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly is Hon Dele Olugbemi and not Dr Adewale Omirin." In a statement issued on Saturday by the his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said; "Omirin is already in court, challenging his impeachment and common sense dictates that when you are challenging an action already taken in court

Presidency to investigate audio leak of GEJ's congratulatory phone call to Buhari

pres. jonaathan and rtd.Gen buhari When we all heard the audio of president Jonathan's congratulatory phone call to Gen Buhari on March 31st, some of you thought it was leaked by the presidency to make Pres. Jonathan look good but according to new reports, the presidency is embarrassed by the leak and has commenced a discreet investigation into how the phone conversation was leaked. The presidency is now trying to find out if the leak came from them or from Gen. Buhari's camp. A source told Saturday Sun; “Definitely, unauthorised release of a raw recording of the President’s telephone conversation, if from our (Presidency’s) end is a security breach that cannot go without being investigated,” the source said. The source said if they find out the audio, which went viral two days ago, was from the Presidency, then further investigation would be conducted to fish out those behind it in order to mete out appropriate punishment.

Al-Jazeerah journalists detained by Nigerian military regain freedom

The two Al-Jazeerha journalists, Ahmed Idris and Ali Mustafa who were detained in their hotel in Maiduguri, by the Nigerian military over allegations of loitering, have regained their freedom. According to Borno state government's news platform, KSM News, the journalists were this morning allowed to leave the hotel where they have been detained since March 24th and have been moved to the state government lodge on the advice of Borno state governor, Kashim Shettima.

Ekiti State Assembly commences plot to impeach Ayo Fayose

Legislators at Ekiti Assembly have served Governor Ayo Fayose an impeachment notice and have given him seven days to respond. At least 18 members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly have agreed to commence investigations into allegations of grave misconduct against the governor. One of the legislators in Ekiti told Sahara Reporters, “We are going to look at the allegations against Governor Fayose in a responsible manner and make our decision in line with the rule of law and the overall interest of the people of the state.” If indeed Fayose gets successfully impeached, it would mark his second impeachment in office.

Troops who stormed a terrorist camp in Balmo Forest, Bauchi State last week and destroyed it were reportedly said to have found identity cards and other incriminating items of some top politicians. Pres. Jonathan & his family begin to move personal effects from Aso Rock

According to a report by Punch , President Jonathan and his family members have started moving their personal belongings out of the Presidential Villa in Abuja. One of the newspaper's reporters said he saw some buses loaded with travel bags moving out of the President’s official residence yesterday afternoon Friday April 3rd. It is believed that the president and his family will return to Otuoke, Bayelsa, once his tenure ends on May 29th. There are also reports that the reason for the early removal of personal belongings of the First Family is to allow for renovation work of the residence to commence before Buhari comes into power in May.
