Glo launches Twin Bash for data subscribers, Gives N1,200 worth of benefits for N200 recharge

The Next Generation Network, Globacom, has enriched the network experience of its data subscribers with fanatic benefits which include free quadruple data and free double airtime to call any network. Announcing the new offer, called Twin Bash, in Lagos on Wednesday, Globacom's Executive Director, Legal Services, Mrs Gladys Talabi said that any subscriber who recharges N200 data will get 200 MB of data worth N800, another N200 airtime to call or send sms to any network and N200 airtime to call 10 friends and family. The subscriber will therefore get N1,200 value for a data recharge of N200 and the recharge is valid for four days. She said similarly, a subscriber who recharges with N500 data plan will get 500 MB of data, N500 airtime to call or send sms to any network and N500 airtime to call 10 friends and family, adding that this is valid for 10 days. Mrs Talabi further explained that from now, every subscriber who recharges with N1,000 for data will get  1GB of data. T

The key appointments which Mr. President is set to announce any moment from now are those of his special advisers. Mr President is no longer in the process of searching for those advisers. Robert Kityo, a gay Ugandan-born asylum-seeker is facing deportation to his country after failing to prove he's gay. Uganda is one of the least tolerant countries in the world, where being gay is illegal, and is punished with life imprisonment. The Anti-Homosexuality Act was overturned by the country’s Constitutional Court last year. 35-year-old Kityo, who lives in Manchester, was taken to a deportation centre after his latest attempt to claim asylum was refused by the Home Office. A decision letter sent by officials acting on behalf of Home Secretary Theresa May said: "It is not accepted that you are a homosexual and an openly gay man." The decision came even though more than 30 people including Dr David Walker, the Bishop of Manchester, and leaders of LGBT groups in the city, sent letters in support of Mr Kityo’s claim. More than 1,900 people have also signed a petition calling for him to be allowed to remain in the UK. Kityo volunteers with a number of LGBT groups

Attorney General to appear in court Nov. 23 over Dasuki's house arrest

Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court in Abuja has extended till Monday, November 23rd the summons he issued against the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Alhaji Abubakar Malami (SAN) to appear before him to explain the continued siege being laid on the Abuja residence of the Former National Security Adviser (NSA), Colonel Dasuki (rtd). Justice Ademola gave the extension after the new Solicitor General of the Federation, Taiwo Abidogun, who was in court for the first time over Dasuki’s matter, told the court that the AGF and Minister of Justice had not resumed office. Abidogun said Malami will be resuming office on Wednesday November 18th and will be briefed on the matter by Thursday or Friday. He assured the court that the AGF will appear before it unfailingly on Monday.

Less than a week after they were born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, the conjoined twin girls have died. The head of the intensive care unit, Abid Hossian Molla said they died on Sunday after apparently suffering from heart failure. They were taken into intensive care at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Bangladesh's biggest public hospital, which set up a team of specialists to treat them.  "She was not in a stable condition since she was born. She died before we could intervene," said Hossian Molla. "She was a rare conjoined twins with two heads. She had two hands and two legs like any normal baby, but inside she had two hearts, two sets of lungs and shared pelvic organs." he added. The twins' father Jamal Mia said he had buried them at a public graveyard in Dhaka. "I can't afford to hire an ambulance to take her back home. So the doctors gave me money to bury them in Dhaka," Mia said. "I feel sad for them as we could not do much to

Troops of 7 Division Garrison, Nigerian Army have arrested a Boko Haram kingpin identified as John Trankil at Kasuwar Shanu in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect said that nine of them were sneaked into Maiduguri armed with AK-47 assault rifle each and a Hilux vehicle laden with 20 Improvised Explosive Devices meant to be detonated at some selected targets in the city. Otobong Nkanga has emerged winner of the 2015 Yanghyun Foundation Artist Award in Seoul, Korea. Ms Nkanga is the first African recipient of the prestigious award.   Nkanga was born in Kano, Nigeria in 1974. According to Mzamzi Online news, a Zimbabwean woman gave birth to this strange looking baby in a Harare Hospital on Nov. 14. The woman reportedly delivered after 10 months pregnancy. Parirenyatwa Doctors were shocked to see the baby.  "I’ve never seen such a thing in my life here at Parirenyatwa as doctors we know and believe that when a woman is giving birth, the head comes first and the legs last. To my own surprise this baby like creature brought her legs first" said Doctor Chenyeke. Mother of the baby, Sharon Kujeke refused to take the baby home.
