The police in Lagos state is looking for a suspected cultist named Anu Olokodana (pictured right), for allegedly drowning his childhood friend, 20 year old Adeleke Awosiga (pictured left) for refusing to join his cult group based in Isheri, Ojodu berger in Lagos state. According to a report by  Punch , the incident happened on June 13th during a birthday party for Anu. An argument ensued between the two friends and Anu reportedly twisted Leke's neck and threw him into a swimming pool inside a hotel in Isheri where he was having his party. A relative of the deceased who spoke on condition of anonymity said "The suspect, Olokodana, is popularly called T-Fire. He is a cult member and he was at the party with other member of his cult group. Adeleke was also there to celebrate his friend’s birthday. 2 homosexual suspects were yesterday remanded in Onitsha prison by the Chief Magistrate in Onitsha, presided over by Nkemdilim Ike, in order to consider applications by the parties to the case. Ebuka Anyasi, 23, and Michael Ikegbunam, 19, were detained in Onitsha Prisons on June 15 for allegedly committing felony by having carnal knowledge of two minors, Ifechukwu Okafor, 14, and Tagbo Chukwuma. The act lasted for 7 days, while both victims were locked in confinement in Okoloji Street, Odoakpu in Onitsha, Anambra State. The 2 accused pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge against them, but the Prosecutor, Clem Nwancho, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP, opposed their bail and submitted a three-page motion application as well as an affidavit opposing the plea for bail for the two accused. The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned a 52-year-old school teacher, Isaac Ikiabeke, for allegedly raping a 5-year-old pupil in the Ikorodu area.   Ikiabeke, who is the proprietor of the school, Brighter Glory School, located on Etunrere Street, raped his victim after school hours. The victim, five-year-old Pat (not her real name), said Ikiabeke had allegedly raped her 10 times. She said, “He has been doing it for some time. He has done it more than 10 times. I am not the only one. He does it with some of us after school hours. I could not tell anybody because he said if I did he would beat me.” The victim’s grandfather explained that his attention was drawn to the sexual assault by some of Pat’s classmates. President Buhari says he met a virtually empty treasury when he assumed office. He said this while speaking with members of the state House correspondents in Aso Rock earlier today. "I hope we are starting and this culture developed, of 100 days is bringing so much pressure with treasury virtually empty, with debts in millions of dollars, with state workers and even federal workers not paid their salaries. It is such a disgrace for Nigeria. I think Nigeria should be in a position to even pay it’s workers. This bad management that we find ourselves in, we really need your help to protect us from people before they match on us” he said

President Buhari has reportedly reduced the number of journalists and aides that will accompany him on his foreign and local trips. President Buhari's directive was contained in a statement sent from his office to the relevant agencies. Under the new arrangement, two journalists, as against 4, will travel officially with the president.

Abia state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has announced the slashing of his salary and travel allowance by 50%. The governor said he decided to cut his salary and travel allowance so that he can personally identify with the state workers who have not received their salaries for many months now. He urged other appointees to follow in his foot step. The governor announced his salary slash while swearing in the states new state Head of Service, Dr Vivian Uma.

The convict was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, sequel to a petition from a legal practitioner on behalf of one Mrs. Veronica Okonkwo, an eighty-one (81) year-old woman who was the victim. The convicts while operating as a commercial tri-cyclist conspired with other persons who are still at large and falsely represented to the victim that they had the capacity to produce local and foreign currencies from pieces of papers by dipping them into mercury. Osita and his accomplices hoodwinked the 81-year-old woman to let go the sum of N120, 000.00 (One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira) as registration fee with a mercury company prior to the procurement of the chemical.
