A Kano-based Islamic scholar, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, has called on banned Kannywood star, Rahama Sadau to turn down the invitation extended to her to visit the Hollywood. The hugely popular Kaduna-born actress was banned over two weeks ago from the Hausa film industry for her 'immoral' appearance in a romantic music video by Jos musician, ClassiQ, in which she is seen hugging and cuddling. Following the resultant outrage and condemnation, the 22-year-old actress was invited by international star, Akon and US-based Nigerian film-maker, Jeta Amata, to visit the set of their new film in Hollywood, Los Angeles. In an open letter addressed to Rahama on Facebook in Hausa, Sheikh Daurawa described the problem the actress had with Kanywood as trial from God to test her faith. He added that Islam agrees with people being told to mend their ways when they make mistake. The cleric went on to suggest that marriage would be better for the actress.

The Many Lies in John Paden's Book on Buhari - By Reno Omokri

Image
Read his piece below... The book 'Muhammadu Buhari-The Challenges of Leadership in Nigeria' by Professor John Paden is not only an intellectually lazy work, it is also a fallacious document hastily put together to paint the protagonist in the borrowed garb of an effective leader who is cleaning the Augean Stable of misrule and corruption in Nigeria, but my question is this-how can you fight corruption with lies? I have taken my time to x-ray the book and I cannot help but agree with the national leader of the ruling All Progressive Congress that Paden has done a great disservice to the truth. If I were Paden, I would consider a career in fiction writing. His talents are much better suited for that than to scholarly and investigative work. On page 52 of the book, Professor Paden declares that Dr. Goodluck Jonathan declared for the April 2011 Presidential election on Saturday, 18th of September 2011.   But for a man who was a Rhodes scholar at Oxford U...
