Mourinho: Why Roman Abramovich Was Never My Friend

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has lifted the lid on his relationship with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich ahead of his return to the Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho who helped Chelsea to three titles among several other laurels has now said himself and Russian owner, Abramovich were never as close as widely claimed.
“He was never my friend. We always had the relationship of owner-manager. A very respectful relationship, Mourinho revealed.
“We were never close to each other. So, no. He is just a person that I keep very respected.”
Going by Mourinho’s comments, there will no love lost between the Portuguese and his former boss, Abramovich who fired him twice despite being the Chelsea’s most successful manager ever.
