The freezing of funds in the popular Ponzi scheme MMM, seems to have affected a lot of Nigerians adversely. Especially as many were looking forward to using the money made to enjoy the festivities of Christmas.
A middle aged woman was so lost in thought over the MMM scheme, that she reportedly forgot her daughter inside the Keke that brought her to the market at Osadebe way in Asaba.
According to Leadership, Mrs Besie Njoagwani, a caterer, had chartered one of the popular tricycles to take her and her daughter to the market, then she returned home, leaving her child in the tricycle.
Upon getting to the market, she left her daughter inside the Keke, to buy foodstuff, then she forgot she had come with her daughter and went on home.
A woman selling tomatoes in the market, explained that she saw the woman sitting down with one hand in her jaw and looking perplexed.
She then got up, hissed and left, going towards Abraka (Hausa) Market at the end of Dennis Osadebe way, leaving her child behind.
“I told this my friend (pointing at the girl next to her) that the woman was looking very worried over something, but I did not even know that she came to the market in a chartered KEK-NAPEP, with her daughter seated in the tricycle.
"If I had known, I would have reminded her that she was leaving the little girl she brought behind when I saw her going,” the tomato seller said.
The woman later explained that she was lost in thought and confusion over the recent MMM freeze, because she had put a lot of money into the scheme.
Meanwhile, another MMM participant Berriee IJ has recently taken to Facebook to tell her bad luck story and find a dishonest fellow MMM member who duped her and vanished with her money.
She wrote: "I was matched with this guy whose image is attached on MMM. His name is Ezenagu Chukwudi, a student of caleb university.
"His phone number is 08154264497. I was supposed to pay him the sum of 308,000 but i mistakenly transferred 380,000 to his account.
"He confirmed receiving the funds into his account and promised to send me the excess. That was all the money i had in my account and I was really hopeful. Only for this guy to block my numbers from reaching him."
