UPDATED: Three confirmed dead, many injured as two bombs explode in main market in Maiduguri

There is pandemonium in Maiduguri over two deafening explosion recorded near Maiduguri’s main market in Borno state today, Sunday, December 11.
According to Premium Times, the two explosions occurred around 9 am in a crowded area.
Victor Isuku who is the public relations officer of the state police command confirmed the explosions.

He said that the incident happened near Old NEPA office not far from Monday market.
Details of the incident are still sketchy but rescue personnel have been deployed to the site.
The area is considered one of the busiest places in the state capital as it is a hub for commuters and pedestrians.
The dreaded Boko Haram sect is suspected to be responsible for the attack.
Alhaji Danbatta who is a member of the rescue team confirmed that three persons have been reported dead in the attack.
He said: “So far, three persons are dead.
“It was a suicide bomb attack, we are trying to ascertain the actual number of those injured in the hospital now.”
This incident is happening after Friday’s suicide bombing attacks in Madagali town, Adamawa state.
The local government also reported about 57-67 people who were critically injured and later taken to Mubi General Hospital and Yola Specialists Hospital
120 other people sustained minor injuries in the explosions that occurred at a busy market in early Friday morning, December 9.
